A fifth-generation Texan, husband, father of five, grandfather of twelve, courageous MAGA Republican, and self-made businessman, Don Huffines will bring a private-sector mindset to the Comptroller’s office. Guided by his deep Texas roots and commitment to faith, family, and freedom, Don has spent his life fighting to protect taxpayers and advancing conservative values.
As a State Senator, Huffines never took a penny of government money – no pay, no pension, no healthcare, no per diem. He uncovered the largest government corruption scandal in modern Texas history, a $100 million agency stealing millions in taxpayer funds. Despite $1.3 million in lobbyist pressure to block his investigation, Don persisted. His work resulted in six officials going to prison and the agency being shut down overnight, saving Texans tens of millions of dollars.
Now, he’s running for Comptroller to bring President Trump’s bold leadership and business-minded discipline to Austin.
