Jay Coppock is a native Texan and recently retired in June 2024 after 36 years of service in the financial industry where he spent the last 15 years at Associated Credit Union of Texas as the Chief Operations Officer. He is currently active on multiple boards throughout the area including a founding member and Treasure of the Rotary Club of Greater Houston Veterans, Executive Board Member of the Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of the Galveston County CISM and board member on Stay Tuned for Vets.
S.E.R.V.E. – South East Resource Veterans’ Effort is a 501C3 non-profit created in August 2015 to connect gulf coast area veteran service organizations together to improve the lives of Veterans and their families in Galveston County and has expanded to provide financial assistance to those Veterans and their families when needed.
S.E.R.V.E. originally started with 5 non-profit organizations and began meeting monthly to network and share resources. Today, it has grown to over 75 organizations and a multitude of individuals.
S.E.R.V.E. was recognized by the US Department of Veterans Affairs at their Annual Mental Health Summit in 2017 for our “outstanding impact and ongoing efforts to promote mental health recovery and re-integration among Veterans in the Southeast Texas Gulf Coast Region” and received the Solomon Lederman Veteran Service Award in 2021 from Career Gear. The first time a group was given the award in its 7-year history.
Jay has been married for over 36 years to his lovely bride Lauri, has three children, and 8 grandchildren. Together they own a custom wooden flag company called Charred and Starred where they craft beautiful one-of-a-kind flags to honor our military and first responders. When he isn’t making flags, Jay loves to play golf and hang out with his friends and family.

Eli Perez served 8 years in the Army as an infantryman. He joined at the age at seventeen where he chose the DMZ in South Korea as his first duty station where he was a part of the legendary 1/506 Currahee Infantry Regiment in 2001.
His second duty station was Ft. Lewis, WA as a part of the 25th Infantry Division where he proudly served as a team leader in Charlie Company / 3-21 Infantry regiment. They deployed to Mosul, Iraq as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom from March ’04- March ’05. After returning from deployment he served 2 more years in the Florida National Guard.
Eli now serves his community as a peer service coordinator representing the Military Veterans Peer Network in Galveston & Brazoria County at the Gulf Coast Center.
