Mayes Middleton
Mayes Middleton is a member of the Texas House of Representatives, representing District 23. He assumed office on January 8, 2019. Representative Mayes Middleton is also chairman of the Texas Freedom Caucus, members of the Texas House of Representatives committed to amplifying the voice of liberty minded, grassroots Texans
Mayes sits on the Insurance Committee, the Local & Consent Calendars and the Judiciary & Civil Jurisprudence Committee.
Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors of First Liberty National Bank, the Chambers County Museum at Wallisville, and the Galveston Island Pachyderm Club, and recently served on the Board of Texas Public Policy Foundation, Empower Texans Foundation, and the Executive Committee of Texas Business Leadership Council. Mayes Middleton is one of the most generous, charitable givers in our community. His efforts have rebuilt a church in Chambers County and donated a school in Galveston.

Guest Speaker: Dr. Richard A. Johnson III
TOPIC: Critical Race Theory (CRT)
Richard A. Johnson, Ed.D. and an M.A. in clinical psychology from Texas Southern University. He is the director of the Texas Public Policy Foundation’s Booker T. Washington Initiative, which examines the effects of public policy on African-American communities. Previously, Johnson served as a chief of staff in both municipal and state governments. As chief of staff for a Houston City Council member, he played a significant role in drafting and navigating policies related to public safety, public works, and housing and community development. During the 85th and 86th Texas Legislatures, he served as a chief of staff and a senior policy analyst for a House member and worked on education, public safety, healthcare, and workforce development legislation.
