Lance Kennedy is a seventh-generation Texan, former federal and Texas prosecutor, Army Judge Advocate, founder of Lance Kennedy Law, a statewide criminal-defense firm, and leader of Texas First.
Texas First is a political project built on a straightforward premise: every empire declines, and Texas has a window to prepare while it still possesses the wealth, scale, resources, and freedom to act. It seeks to make practical sovereignty—the capacity to secure energy and water, rebuild productive industry, govern competently, and preserve a common Texan identity—the governing philosophy of the Texas Republican Party. Its purpose is to ensure that Texas can lead an American renewal or withstand a federal system that can no longer perform its basic functions.
Kennedy has prosecuted cases involving cartel violence, white-collar crime, and child exploitation. He graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin, earned his law degree from SMU, and holds a master’s degree in international relations from Harvard University. While at UT, he served as state chairman of the Texas College Republicans.
He lives in Texas with his wife and their four children.
