Guest Speaker: Shane Birdwell
Shane Birdwell, a 6th generation Texan, was born in Fort Worth and was raised in San Antonio, he received a bachelor’s degree in government from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013. He’s held leadership roles for several victorious campaigns including Dr. Dawn Buckingham’s Texas Senate campaign in 2016 and Senator Ted Cruz’s re-election campaign in 2018. In addition, Shane was the Chief of Staff for Representative Matt Krause during the 86th and 87th Legislative Session and aided in the passage of conservative legislation like the First Amendment Defense Act of 2019 and helped double the funding for the Alternatives to Abortion program within the Texas budget.
During the 88th Legislative Session, Shane was the Executive Director for the Texas Freedom Caucus where he worked alongside Conservatives in the Texas House to continue the fight for Texas values. Shane and his wife, Effie, live in Austin with their two dogs, Duke and Clyde, and attend the Austin Ridge Bible Church in Bee Cave.
