Bylaw changes will take place as a result of the Membership vote.
Take note that Members of GIPC will still meet informally on Thursday’s at Mario’s Seawall Italian restaurant from time to time.
Our next meeting is March 12th with our Keynote to be announced.
We will have a joint mixer with our sisters, the Galveston Republican Women, on March 26th at B. Jiggers (Holiday Inn Seawall Blvd) from 5:30pm to 8:00pm.
The Galveston Island Pachyderm Club
Chartered in 1995 as a chapter of the Grand Order of Pachyderm Clubs, is one of the largest Pachyderm Club in Texas. It is our belief that most of the corrupting influences in American Politics could be erased and government made more responsive by one basic improvement. That is, simply for more good citizens to participate in politics. “We get the government we deserve, not the one we wish for,” remains a guide-star for a free people. We offer a meaningful movement of political clubs as the most practical means by which a broad citizen participation in politics may be achieved.
We meet every 2nd Thursday at noon at Mario’s on Seawall, Galveston, TX during odd numbered years and every Thursday at noon during even numbered years. There is an 11:30 am buffet and the program will start at noon. Our speakers include elected officials, candidates, government agency heads, and political activists. Guests are welcome. No reservations needed. Lunch is $12.50.
Please TIP our wait staff. Thanks to Obama, we have to tip the waiters differently than the gratuity that once included the tip in our meal prices.
If more good citizens would participate in politics we could remove some of the most corrupting influences of it.
“We get the government we deserve, not the one we wish for.”
We offer a meaningful way by which citizen participation in politics may be achieved. Come join us!
